Hi everyone, want to share one of my favorite scriptures with you. It has helped me grow in personal knowledge of God’s love so tremendously. Hope you find it so for you too!

“And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!” Is. 30:18 AMPL

He – the Creator of everything – is waiting to be gracious to us! He is waiting for us to come running to Him, to the seat of mercy and love. He knows we are in need of experiencing His overwhelming love – yet He waits on us to go to Him. Expecting, looking, and longing to be gracious gives a picture of the prodigal son’s father. Of a father standing up from the dinner table to look out the window to see if his son is possibly driving up the road now. The picture of a father anxiously perusing e-mail in the middle of the night, hoping one is from his son whom he has not heard from in several months: of a father outrunning everyone in the house to get to the door at the first chime of the doorbell.

Our Father earnestly waits in expectancy for us; longing to see us and talk with us. Whatever has kept us away from intimate fellowship with the Father is not enough for Him to stop looking for us to show up to spend time with Him anyway.

And if we have messed up - He longs to extend mercy and loving kindness to us for anything and everything – but instead we sometimes grow more and more distant due to lack of time spent with Him. The previous verses 15 thru 17 show a picture of someone who is trying to figure things out their own way. An “I can do this” attitude of heart that gets us into a bigger mess!  And all the time He is waiting for us to go to Him for help. Or sometimes we think we have messed things up so bad in some area or another that we are going to have to pay for it. We think He is going to scold and reprimand us for such stupidity – no we probably do that to ourselves. He may correct us after we have been received into loving arms, but He only disciplines those He loves. He will instruct and guide us out.

Then the word goes on to say we are so very blessed if WE wait for Him! If we expectantly look and long for Him to come to us! For Him to come visit, to come spend time alone with us! We are so blessed because when we prepare the way by making time to be alone with Him, He comes to us and brings with Him victory for life, outstanding favor with Him and with man – making a way for us where there wasn’t a way before! His wonderful love for us precedes His visit, surrounds His visit, and lingers far after. The joy in His presence infuses our being with strength to continue the race to the goal.

Matchless, unbroken companionship is the greatest reward of all! When you experience that you are hooked for life. There is nothing in this world that can compare to unbroken fellowship with Him!

Let’s pray: Here I come, running back into your arms! So sorry I haven’t been here Father. I love you.
