Transition: process of change: a process or period in which something undergoes a change and passes from one state, stage, form, or activity to another. Cause to change: to undergo a change of status or condition, or cause somebody or something to undergo a change.

Transition times are meant by the Holy Spirit to move us from one ‘place’ to another spiritually. While in the process of this movement we will indeed undergo a change-spirit, soul, and lifestyle. We must in order to function successfully in the new ‘place’.

What we usually can’t see until this process is completed is that some of our dreams, hopes, desires and visions are also coming to pass. The seeds of the Spirit of God planted in each one of us that are meant to reach maturity begin to develop.

We can see the process of transition and transformation throughout the Word. Let’s look at three stories.

·  Zacchaeus transitioned from ‘little man’ mentality to a faithful ‘big man’ friend of Jesus and company.

·  Bartimaeus transitioned from the generational cursing of ‘blind beggar man’ family to overflowing fullness of life.

·  Joseph transitioned from hapless ‘dreamer’ to ‘world mover’ overnight.

Real people with real lives just like us, who recognized the ‘moment’ of change and bravely stepped into it!

Transition is a time of intense pressure and often unrelenting pain, or so it seems. It is interesting to relate the natural process of birthing a child to the spiritual process of transition. If you stay focused and concentrated on relaxing and getting through to the “other side” – the birthing moves along much more quickly and easily! How quickly and successfully depends on your focus of attention. Is it on the pressure and pain or the goal and prize?

Anyone of the above mentioned men in the Bible could have let go of and refused to give vision its place, but instead they kept on dreaming and planning a different life. Then when each first HEARD of and then SAW Jesus, HOPE sprang up and gave motivation to RECOGNIZE opportunity for transformation through Jesus! They chose to act on the response of their spirits, not caring what others would think of their ‘opportunism”! They saw the open door of the Spirit of God, so to speak, and bravely went through it. How about us? Opportunity for TRANSITION comes more often than we recognize we just aren’t in POSITION TO SEE it most of the time.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to never miss an opportunity for transition and transformation again. Help me position myself to SEE Jesus, and RECOGNIZE my opportunity for change! Thank You Father, I Love YOU!
